Asia University Establishes AI and Semiconductor Hub in Central Taiwan, Offering Generous Scholarships

At the 2025 Taipei University Expo, Asia University (AU) stood out with its theme, "Building an AI-Driven University to Cultivate Smart Healthcare and AI Industry Talent." The university attracted significant attention by highlighting its high national exam pass rates and impressive graduate salaries, particularly students from the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and the Department of Nursing, who have secured annual salaries exceeding one million NTD upon graduation. This sparked great interest among prospective students and parents, who eagerly inquired about AU’s programs.
During the three-day 228 holiday weekend, the AU booth was bustling with visitors from early morning, as many students had done prior research and had already set their sights on specific programs. Various cutting-edge innovations were showcased, including a multi-joint training robot developed by the Department of Occupational Therapy, an AI-powered handheld ultrasound device capable of rapidly diagnosing tissue injuries from the Department of Physical Therapy, and smart hearing assessment devices from the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The College of Informatics also presented notable achievements, such as a mobile dental consultation app that utilizes big data analysis to facilitate remote diagnoses and an AR-guided museum tour developed in collaboration with AU’s Museum of Modern Art, which has already secured funding from the National Science and Technology Council.
Dr. Wu Junzhong, Dean of AU’s College of Medical and Health Sciences, emphasized that AU’s outstanding performance is reflected in its numbers. Last year, the university achieved a 100% enrollment rate, with a 99.54% registration rate for daytime undergraduate programs, positioning AU among Taiwan’s top universities. Students have a high national certification exam pass rate, stable employment, and average monthly salaries ranging from NTD 50K to 80K. Graduates from the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology are highly sought after, with some securing annual salaries exceeding one million NTD immediately upon graduation at major hearing aid companies, while nurses at AU-affiliated hospitals working rotating shifts can also earn over one million NTD per year. Furthermore, AU’s second affiliated hospital and Fengyuan Medical Park are set to open in October next year, creating 2,000 new job opportunities. Graduates will have direct employment pathways within China Medical University’s United Asia University system, which includes 27 affiliated medical institutions and related enterprises, ensuring high-paying career opportunities.
Dr. Chang Youcheng, Director of Admissions, announced that AU offers scholarships of up to NTD 3.6 million for incoming students, with additional incentives this year. Students who achieve a High Standard in English and a Basic Standard in another subject on the General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) will receive an annual scholarship of NTD 20K, while nursing students can apply for the Outstanding Nursing Scholarship worth NTD 120K to 130K per year. Additionally, students in the Long-Term Care program can receive NTD 60K per year, and those in the Medical Informatics program are eligible for NTD 100K per year. Through these initiatives, AU continues to solidify its reputation as a leading university in AI education, smart healthcare innovation, and high-quality career opportunities for its students.
