Asia University (AU) has been ranked 107th in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2025, showcasing its continued rise in global academic standing. Among 47 Taiwanese universities listed, 13 were ranked in the top 200. AU placed 8th nationwide, 3rd among private universities, and 1st among private non-medical universities, reflecting its strong academic performance and growing international influence.

AU also achieved an impressive position in the THE Taiwan University Rankings 2025, ranking 3rd overall in the country and maintaining its position as the top private non-medical university. These accomplishments underline AU’s academic strength and global competitiveness.

Dr. Chang-Hai Tsai, Chairman of the China Asia Associated University (CA2U) System—which includes both Asia University and China Medical University—highlighted that the THE rankings are an important global benchmark of academic research excellence. He noted that China Medical University was ranked 2nd among Taiwanese universities, while Asia University’s performance reinforces the high caliber of CA2U’s educational achievements.

AU President Dr. Jeffrey J.P. Tsai noted that although AU is a relatively young university—founded just 24 years ago—it has been consistently ranked in all four major international university rankings: THE, QS, Shanghai ARWU, and U.S. News. AU has been listed among the “Best Global Universities” for 11 consecutive years. In the 2024 THE World University Rankings by Subject, AU had five subjects ranked 1st among all private universities in Taiwan, and two subjects ranked 2nd nationwide, demonstrating both academic breadth and depth.

President Tsai emphasized AU’s strategic focus on AI integration across all disciplines. The university is committed to cultivating students with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven future. AU has partnered with leading tech companies such as SPIL and Tiger Tech to develop a "Central Taiwan Semiconductor Hub." Additionally, 21 AU professors have been named among the world’s top 2% of scientists. The university has also launched seven major innovation projects in collaboration with global institutions like Harvard, MIT, NVIDIA, and AMD to cultivate talent in AI and biomedical computing.

Dr. Mei-Ching Yin, AU’s Vice President for Research and Development, added that THE rankings are based on indicators such as research performance, industry collaboration, teaching quality, and international outlook. AU continues to align with global trends in AI development, with faculty who are active in academic research and innovative teaching practices. The university offers free preparatory courses for national exams, English proficiency tests, and AI certifications. AU students have already earned over 100 internationally recognized certifications from AWS and NVIDIA, while its students’ pass rates in medical licensing exams exceed the national average. With a strong commitment to research and international employability, AU continues its ascent in global university rankings.
