To accelerate technological innovation and promote the localization of equipment development in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry, Vice President Huang, Director of the Intelligent Semiconductor Design and Sustainable Manufacturing Research Center at Asia University, led a delegation from the center on February 3 to visit the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC). During the visit, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on key areas including semiconductor process equipment R&D, advanced thin-film technologies, and green sustainable manufacturing, and reached a strong consensus on advancing cross-disciplinary project collaborations, with the shared goal of injecting new R&D momentum into Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem.

In addition to technical exchanges, Vice President Huang emphasized the importance of semiconductor talent cultivation. Looking ahead, Asia University’s Semiconductor Center and MIRDC will further evaluate the implementation of joint graduate supervision programs or industry internship initiatives, enabling students to participate in hands-on R&D activities at MIRDC during their studies. Through direct exposure to advanced industrial equipment and inspection instruments, the collaboration aims to cultivate high-level semiconductor professionals who possess both solid theoretical foundations and strong practical capabilities.
