Chairman Shu-Chyuan Yeh of Lingsen Precision Industries, Ltd. visited the Asia University Semiconductor Center on August 28. The two sides exchanged views on semiconductor talent development, industry needs, and industry–academia collaboration, while also discussing ways to strengthen students’ practical capabilities and improve their readiness for careers in the semiconductor industry.

Advancing Semiconductor Talent Development and Industry–Academia Collaboration

Chairman Shu-Chyuan Yeh of Lingsen Precision Industries, Ltd. visited the Asia University Semiconductor Center on August 28 and met with Asia University’s semiconductor team. The two sides exchanged views on semiconductor talent development, industry needs, and industry–academia collaboration. They also discussed potential directions for deepening university–industry engagement, strengthening students’ practical capabilities, and better aligning talent development with the needs of the semiconductor industry.

Lingsen Precision has extensive experience in semiconductor packaging and testing and has established a positive foundation for interaction with Asia University in talent development and industry exchange. During the visit, Chairman Yeh gained a deeper understanding of the University’s semiconductor education programs and hands-on training facilities. He also shared industry perspectives on current workforce needs and university-based talent development models. Closer engagement between industry and higher education is expected to help cultivate semiconductor professionals equipped with the practical capabilities required by employers.

Aligning Academic Programs with Industry Needs

During the exchange, the two sides focused particularly on aligning academic programs with industry needs, strengthening students’ practical training, expanding corporate internship opportunities, developing professional talent, and improving the transition from university education to employment.

Asia University is actively developing a comprehensive environment for semiconductor talent cultivation. Its curriculum covers IC design, semiconductor materials and processes, as well as packaging and testing. Through the hands-on teaching facilities of the Semiconductor Center, the University integrates professional coursework with equipment operation, industry practices, and corporate engagement, helping reduce the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements.

INDUSTRY–ACADEMIA COLLABORATION AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT
Industry–academia collaboration is an essential component of semiconductor talent development. Exchanges with senior corporate executives and industry specialists enable the University to better understand technological developments and workforce needs. Industry experience can then be incorporated into academic programs and talent development mechanisms, allowing students to acquire the professional knowledge, practical capabilities, and workplace competencies required by the industry before graduation.
